Chrismon named to Allstate NACDA Good Works Team

Northbrook, Ill. —- Catawba College junior shortstop Nathan Chrismon was named to a member of the inaugural Allstate National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Good Works Team for the spring, the organization announced Tuesday morning.

The team honors just 20 student-athletes across all collegiate divisions across the country who are leading in their sport, in the classroom and in their communities.

Chrismon brought awareness to his non-profit, Stealing Hearts NC, to the Catawba College Baseball community, which supports the local youth through sports. Chrismon led the charge in Catawba Baseball offering Stealing Hearts sponsors for each of its home games this season, with added fundraising for every stolen base the Catawba Indians record this season.

To date, Stealing Hearts sponsors have donated $7,200 dollars to benefit the local youth through sports and fellowship.

Chrismon also holds a 3.8 cumulative grade-point average and is a three-year member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

The China Grove, N.C. native is hitting .392 in the month of April with an on-base percentage of exactly .500, leading Catawba to a top-10 national ranking and a South Atlantic Conference regular season championship.

Chrismon and the Catawba Indians close out their regular season with a non-conference matchup with 20th-ranked Lenoir-Rhyne on Tuesday at 1 p.m.
