Smith & Arevalo earn WePlayed Sports SAC Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week

Rock Hill, S.C. —- Catawba College seniors Hayes Smith and Riannel Arevalo were named the WePlayed Sports South Atlantic Conference Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday afternoon.

Smith and Arevalo were a perfect 4-0 across the opening week of action for the Catawba Indians in wins over Richard Bland, Wake Tech and Sandhills CC.

The duo played in the top-ranked match all week, not dropping a set all week.

Smith, Arevalo and the Catawba Indians return to action at the Catawba Beach Courts this weekend, hosting the first of two SAC Weekends during the season, facing Carson-Newman and Tusculum at 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., respectively.
