Beach Volleyball tabbed fifth in inaugural SAC/CC preseason poll

Rock Hill, S.C. —- The Catawba College beach volleyball team was picked fifth in the inaugural South Atlantic Conference Carolinas preseason poll, the league office announced Friday afternoon. Christina Knotts and Morgan Childress were named a duo to watch by the league office.

Carson-Newman was voted the league favorite, while Tusculum was second. Erskine and Emmanuel were third and fourth before Catawba at fifth. First-year program Wingate rounded out the poll at sixth.

Knotts and Childress earned six wins against NCAA teams last year, good for second-most in the program's short history. Knotts holds the distinction as the program's leader in matches played and career wins.

Catawba enters its first season under the direction of head coach Suzana Andrade. Andrade comes to Catawba after serving as an assistant for the indoor women's volleyball team at Palm Beach Atlantic.

The Catawba Indians begin their 2025 season at home on Wednesday, Feb. 26 against Richard Bland College at 11 a.m.
