
Beach Volleyball sweeps Sandhills CC to finish winning weekend
Gastonia, N.C. —- The Catawba College beach volleyball team made a clean 5-0 sweep of Sandhills CC on Saturday, finishing off a winning weekend at Gaston College. The Catawba Indians improve to 8-10 on the season, while Sandhills drops to 1-9 on the year.
All five doubles groups got in on the winning action, with just one lost set across all five teams. Raytchelle Miranda and Christina Knotts took the #1 doubles match 21-6, 21-11, Morgan Childress and Kelcie Love won their #2s match by a 21-6, 21-5 final, Ragan Ball and Hayes Smith took #3 doubles 22-20, 21-11, Devyn Berg and Maggie Marable won in straight sets 21-18, 21-13 and Molly Mather and Kennedy Kimbro made it a clean sweep with a comeback win 17-21, 21-9, 15-10.
Catawba returns home on Tuesday, facing St. Andrew's for a doubleheader starting at 2 p.m.
