Bio

Jerrodd “Coach Fat” Williams was hired on Jan 13th, 2025. As an assistant coach at Lewis University, Williams helped the program win two conference championships on the women’s side and one on the men’s side. On the women’s side he was able to develop the ladies to one All-American, top ten USTFCCCA event squad ranking indoor in the 60m and 200,  six national qualifying events, four All-Region honors, shattered five school records, two conference record, and three All-Academic Team honors.  On the men’s side he was to help his men’s win five individual conference titles, top 20 USTFCCCA event squad ranking outdoor 200m,  and three national provisional marks. 

While at Mount Olive, Williams helped the program achieve six national qualifiers, 12 USTFCCCA All-Region Team honors, 12 conference champions to go along with four team conference titles, six conference All-Academic Team honors, and one U20 Qualifier.

Before Mount Olive, Williams oversaw sprints and relays for Bemidji State University. In his tenure, the Beavers broke program records in 4x200m relay, 4x400m relay, and 500m run. Under Williams' tutelage, Alaina Hall set three top-10 times in BSU history in the 100m dash, ending the season with a fifth-place finish at the 2022 NSIC Outdoor Championships. Four of Williams' student-athletes also earned Academic All-Conference honors in Winter and Spring.

Williams served as an assistant coach for Southeastern Iowa Community College. While there, Williams trained a national qualifier in the 600m run.

Williams began his coaching career at Berkeley High School in Charleston, S.C. While there, Williams led a state title-winning 4x400m relay team, and two state runner-up finishes. Berkeley had dozens of all-state sprinters under Williams' leadership, and he coached the 2018 AAU Triple Jump Champion.

Williams graduated from Clemson University in 2014 with a degree in business management and a minor in sociology. He was a two-year letter winner in football after transferring from Virginia Tech, where he also played football.
