HOW IT HAPPENED

FIRST HALF

- Lincoln Memorial was the first team out of the gate, threatening forward early as Ronan O'Mahoney had a pair of shots within the first 10 minutes. One of them would be cleared off the line by the Catawba defense

- Cerda-Tous would have Catawba's first shot around the 12th minute, but renewed pressure from Lincoln Memorial saw them put attempt the next three shots and then force the first save of the game from Stiffler just past the half-hour mark

- Cerda-Tous and Joe Bennet would see shots miss the target before the first half ended, with neither side able to gain much traction or create quality opportunities

SECOND HALF

- Both teams had their chances before the hour mark following the break, with Catawba's Joe Allerton and Lincoln Memorial's Daniel Burko each forcing saves

- The deadlock would eventually be broken in the 60th minute, as Kriton Kiousis struck for the Railsplitters to make it 1-0, assisted by Burko and Igor Goncalves

- Salano Birch looked to lead the comeback charge for Catawba as they pushed for an equalizer, with two of Catawba's four shots attempted in the following minutes

- But Catawba's momentum would take a serious blow in the 85th minute, as a heavy tackle from Sapsford would see him receiving a straight red card and exiting the game

- Catawba weathered three straight corner chances from the Railsplitters, and though Cerda-Tous was able to get one more attempt on target in the 90th minute it would be handled by Miklosi to preserve the shutout win for Lincoln Memorial
