#6 Women’s Tennis clinches at least a share of SAC title with road sweep of Anderson

Anderson, S.C. —- The 6th-ranked Catawba College women's tennis team clinched at least a share of the South Atlantic Conference title and the top seed in next week's SAC Tournament with a 4-0 sweep of Anderson on Tuesday.

 

HOW IT HAPPENED

DOUBLES

- Ami Miya and Lili Drukerova picked up a quick 6-1 win versus the top-ranked Trojans duo

- Tina Gomes and Nika Dundovic helped clinch the doubles point with a 6-3 win in the #3s match

 

SINGLES

- Miya earned a one-set 6-1 victory over the #3 singles opponent for Anderson

- Anna Wise earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory in the #2s match

- Vaishnavi Venkatesh helped clinch the match with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at #6s

- Sofia Antolini won the first set 6-0, but could not finish before the clinch point

- Catawba will close up its SAC slate on Saturday, taking on Tusculum for the team's Senior Day with a chance to claim its first outright regular season title in program history
