Men’s Tennis picks up win over Averett

Salisbury, N.C. —- The Catawba College men's tennis team picked up a win over Averett on Tuesday, winning 6-1 in NCAA tennis action at home. The Catawba Indians improve to 4-6 on the season, while Averett drops to 2-2.

Catawba won two of three doubles matches to earn the point, as Marcos Castares and Ryan Little won their match 6-4 and Taketoshi Nanao and Sebastian Zabala clinched the point with a 6-0 win.

Catawba took five of six singles matches on the day. Castares earned a 6-3, 7-6 victory, Little came back to win 4-6, 6-0, 6-2, Kane Elkin won 7-5, 6-3, Paul Dekester won 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 and Nanao won 6-4, 6-3.

The Catawba Indians continue South Atlantic Conference play tomorrow, traveling to Wingate.
