
#10 Men’s and #13 Women’s Swimming break school records in opening day of Fall Frenzy
Charlotte, N.C. —- The 10th-ranked Catawba College men and the 13th-ranked Catawba women's swimming teams both broke school records in the 800 freestyle relay during action on opening day of the 2024 Kellianne Nagy Fall Frenzy in Charlotte on Thursday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
800 Freestyle Relay
- The Catawba women placed 14th in a loaded heat of the opening event, finishing in 7:41.19, besting a school record
- The men followed up with an impressive third-place finish just ahead of nationally ranked Nova Southeastern with a mark of 6:34.06
- Catawba's time qualified as an NCAA B-cut, marking the first time in program history the Catawba Indians have posted an NCAA standard time in the 800 Free Relay and their first in any relay since 2017.
